I've been keeping tabs on Craigslist daily looking out for job opportunities. Unfortunately, Maui is slow and few places are hiring. It looks as though I'll probably wait out the next couple of weeks and hope to get my old job back at BJ's when the hostess position opens up in March.
So it's said that beggars can't be choosers, but when I checked the job postings today and saw that Bubba Gump's was hiring I couldn't help but laugh. I've worked there twice before (once as a hostess and once as a server) and am fairly certain that I could get obtain a job there, but I just can't bring myself to go down and apply. Never before, or after, have I worked at a place that is so corporate. Everyday that I put on my Bubba Gump visor I couldn't help but feel that I was simply a cog in a greedy money mongering corporation that reeked of fried shrimp.
Jordan and I are suppose to start our diving lessons within the next week or so. The hope is that we will be certified to dive by mid-march when her family comes out to visit. That reminds me- March is going to be amazing. During the month of March my sister Ashley, Jordan's mom, dad, brother, and two of the girls from high school (Jess and Jaime) will be coming to the island to visit. I'm excited to see everyone, but I'm downright giddy that Ashley is coming to stay for a full month and a half. I haven't seen her since she stayed with me in San Francisco over a year ago, and that is faaar too long. March is going to be amazing.
